Luke Bryan Family: Caroline Boyer Bryan, 40-years-old (Luke’s Wife)
Caroline Boyer and Luke Bryan first crossed paths when they attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. The pair met at a local bar called Dingus Magee’s in the fall of 1998, he was a senior and she was a freshman. Bryan once explained to Good Housekeeping that he was smitten with his wife at first sight, “It was love at first sight with Caroline — those blue eyes of hers. I knew that, no matter what, I was going to make my way over to her.”
Despite how smooth Luke Bryan seems to be, Caroline fessed up to People magazine that she was the one who made the first move, “He was always a gentleman. We hung out as friends first and he never made a move on me. I kissed him first! He was always so scared of making a girl feel uncomfortable, he wouldn’t cross a line.”
Sadly, the college sweethearts broke up and were apart for over five year before reconnecting again in Statesboro. “I was playing a little bar in Statesboro and she just happened to kinda be in town. We kinda saw each other and talked a little bit and then started emailing back and forth a little bit. And she was like, ‘Hey, you want to come to my family’s Christmas party?’ I went to the party and the rest is history,” recalled Luke Bryan in a past Huffington Post interview. When recently discussing his New Year’s Eve memories with his record label UMG Nashville, Luke shed some more light on their reunion, “My best New Year’s Eve is definitely when my wife and I started back dating. We started back dating right before Christmas, and we went on a trip down to Florida and met some friends. And her birthday is New Year’s Eve. We celebrated it that night. It was just a great night.”
After years of on-and-off dating, Luke and Caroline got hitched on December 8, 2006 and are still going strong despite the pressures of country music fame and intense tour schedules.
Bo was born March 18, 2008 and recently turned 12 years old. “Happy 12th birthday sweet Bo!!! Love every little thing about you…except when you scare me! Love you to the moon and back!” Caroline shared on Instagram to commemorate her eldest child’s special day on March 18th.
Luke Bryan Family: Tatum Christopher Bryan, 9-years-old (Luke’s Youngest Son)
Luke and Caroline are also proud parents of 9-year-old Tatum Christopher Bryan aka “Tate.” Tate was born on August 11, 2010.
Luke Bryan Family: Raising his Nieces and Nephew
Luke Bryan and wife Caroline adopted his nephew and 2 nieces in 2015. The nieces and nephew are under his care after the tragic deaths of their father and mother. Bryan’s older sister Kelly passed away in 2007 due to undetermined reasons, followed by her husband Ben Lee Cheshire in 2014. After Ben’s death from a possible heart attack, Luke and wife Caroline gladly opened their home to Kris, Jordan, and Tilden aka “Til.” While Kris and Jordan are now young adults, Til is in high school and is being raised along side his cousins, 12-year-old Thomas Boyer Bryan “Bo” and 9-year-old Tatum Christopher Bryan “Tate.”
During an interview with NBC’s TODAY, which aired in July, Luke opened up about what it’s been like to become the guardian of his nieces and nephew. He also credits his wife Caroline with making everything manageable and really stepping up.
“I think with us, I mean, obviously, I do it with (the help of) my wife, hand in hand,” he shared with TODAY contributor Jill Martin, noting how much his wife has supported him and the whole family. “The work that she puts in with the children … I mean, it’s just amazing. I look at her phone and it’s just pinging and vibrating and going off constantly, and it’s the children.”
Luke Bryan Family: Jordan Cheshire, 25-years-old (Luke’s Niece)
Jordan was 20 years old when her father passed away. She is the oldest child and living now independently on her own. She still spends plenty of quality time with the Bryan family and her siblings. Here she is pictured with her long term boyfriend (Clint).
Kris has been with Luke and Caroline since she was 16 years old. She is now 21 years old and living on her own. Kris still spends plenty of family time with the Bryan family and is a frequent visitor to the farm in Tennessee and the beach house in Florida.
Luke Bryan Family: Tilden Cheshire, 18-years-old (Luke’s Nephew)
Tilden has been raised by Luke and Caroline since he was 14 years old. He is currently a senior in high school and lives with the Bryan family at their farm in Tennessee.
The Bryan family serves as an inspiration for how to overcome personal tragedy and still move on in life and thrive.
