According to Deadline, vocal powerhouse and entertainer Kelly Clarkson is set to voice the character “Delta Dawn” for the upcoming Trolls film sequel, called Trolls World Tour. On top of bringing the leader of the country Trolls to life, the Texan will also sing an original tune for the film. Trolls World Tour is expected to be released to theaters on April 17, 2020.
Clarkson isn’t the only newbie to join the project— Anthony Ramos, Karan Soni, Flula Borg, Jamie Dornan, Sam Rockwell, and Chance the Rapper have also signed on.
The movie follows Queen Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) as they discover other Troll communities exist and each touts its own type of music. Due to a threat to Trolls everywhere, each group of Trolls must push past their differences and work together.
Needless to say, Clarkson has been busy! The star is currently involved in The Voice Season 15 and will return for Season 16. She is also gearing up for her own syndicated talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, which premieres next fall. In July, the multi-talented star announced that she will be voicing the part of “Moxy” in the upcoming UglyDolls movie set for release in 2019. Oh, and she’s going on tour with Kelsea Ballerini and Brynn Cartelli in tow.
