If you are a country music fan you probably know one of the many hits Alan Jackson has written and performed over the years. You may also remember his song “Drive”, a sweet story-song about how vehicles can play a big part in the memories of children that grow into adults, which came with a music video that depicted Jackson teaching his own girls to drive like his daddy did with him.
What many people don’t know is that the girls in the video are his real-life daughters, Mattie (26), Ali (23), and Dani (19). Fans of Jackson have watched the girls grow into beautiful young women that are now setting out on their own to make their way in the world.
Jackson, as a father, is understandably protective and even admits to being a little intimidating to potential suitors for his girls.
“I told my daughters I was a nice boy. I was a good kid, and I know what I was trying to do when I went out on a date,” Jackson said. “I don’t care how nice they are! Boys are boys.”
Jackson’s daughters don’t seem to mind their father’s intimidation. The girls know that they have one of the best father’s in the world, as seen in the post his daughter Ali made recently after finding out Jackson will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame:
“The world sees you as follows: a great musician, an impressive songwriter and a talented vocalist. I see you as: my best friend, the guy that taught me that how you treat people matters more than anything else and taught me just how to stand on my own two feet,” Ali wrote. “You’re every daughter’s dream father. Thank you for raising us in a house filled with Jesus and music, and always making sure we knew whatever our dream was could be our reality.”
The three girls, while loving what their father does, has their own interests outside of music.
The eldest, Mattie, recently opened a wine bar in Nashville. She is a certified sommelier and seems to have a passion for the food and beverage industry.
“I saw what was happening with wine in Nashville and thought, I have to go home,” Mattie said after relocating back to Nashville from Austin, Texas.
The youngest daughter, Dani, is just now setting out into the world which will leave Alan and his wife Denise with an empty nest.
We look forward to seeing what’s in store for them all!
