Country music star Darius Rucker has been through a lot of change over the last few years— his daughter Daniella went off to college in New York City, he and his longtime wife Beth Leonard separated, and he moved into a new residence in Tennessee. Darius Rucker’s home is conveniently located within a golf course community and was featured in a recent Architectural Digest article and video.
The singer-songwriter and his teenage son, 16-year-old Jack, have occupied this new estate since June 2020 and they appreciate being able to easily partake in one of their favorite pastimes— golf.
“I love [that] this house] feels like…a place for us to come together and be a family, and live, and I love that. That’s what you want from a house,” Rucker shared.
Believe it or not, this is Rucker’s first place in the Nashville area. Previously, the star lived in his home state of South Carolina. Fellow country music artists Brett Young, Chase Rice, Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean live nearby and often hit the links with Rucker.
“I think most of the people I meet and hang with are surprised I didn’t have a place all this time—I’ve made all my records here,” the star explained. “After over a decade of being here and working hard and trying to be a nice guy, I like to feel I was already part of the community before I moved in.”

However, as of January 2025, Rucker announced a significant life change: his relocation to London. This move marks a new chapter for the artist, who has always spoken fondly of his roots in South Carolina and his time in Nashville. While he has embraced his new life abroad, the Nashville home remains a testament to a period filled with music, camaraderie, and cherished memories. This move allows him to work on new music and perform shows in the UK, fulfilling a long-held aspiration. Despite this change, Rucker reassured fans that his heart remains in the Carolinas, emphasizing that nothing will replace his South Carolina roots. He expressed gratitude for the continued support of his music, regardless of where it’s created. Rucker’s UK plans include participating in the CMA Songwriters Series in Greenwich and additional performances in cities like Glasgow and London. While embracing his time abroad, he maintains a deep connection to his American home and family.
