The Boerne, Texas fixture hosts numerous rodeos, circuses, and equestrian events throughout the year.

“RP3 Management, who has had the pleasure of managing this iconic facility for a short while, was recently informed that the ownership has decided to close the doors effective August 1, 2018. We are told the property will be listed for sale and had to cancel all future shows for 2018 and beyond,” the facility management company somberly shared.

The San Antonio Rose Palace occupies 71.3 acres and features two outdoor arenas, 4,500 seats, and more than 500 horse stalls. According to the venue’s website, numerous events were planned thought the end of 2018 and have now been scrapped.

“We have no further information beyond this available at this time. Social media spreads news faster than the hottest, wind whipped wildfire and we have heard countless speculations, rumors and fielded questions. Thank you for respecting our time during this transition as we work to serve our final events of this month and close the facility,” RP3 Management added.

No word on why the country star has chosen to shut the place down and sell it after 20 years of ownership. This isn’t the only real estate move Strait has made recently, his breathtaking San Antonio estate is hit the market in 2017 and is still up for sale. Check out that property here.

As fans may also recall, Strait also is one of the owners of Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort in Boerne. Last November, the clubhouse went up in flames but no injuries were sustained. The place temporarily closed after the incident but bounced back quickly and is currently rebuilding what was destroyed.

“Troubadour” Lyrics

I still feel 25
Most of the time
I still raise a little Cain with the boys
Honky Tonks and pretty women
But Lord I’m still right there with’em
Singing above the crowd and the noise
Sometimes I feel like Jesse James
Still trying to make a name
Knowing nothing’s gonna change
What I am
I was a young troubador
When I wrote in on a song
And I’ll be an old troubador
When I’m gone
Well the truth about a mirror
Is that a damn old mirror
Don’t really tell the whole truth
It don’t show what’s deep inside
Or read between the lines
And it’s really no reflection of my youth
Sometimes I feel like Jesse James
Still trying to make a name
Knowing nothing’s gonna change
What I am
I was a young troubador
When I wrote in on a song
And I’ll be an old troubador
When I’m gone
I was a young troubador
When I wrote in on a song
And I’ll be an old troubador
When I’m gone
I’ll be an old troubador
When I’m gone
