Yes, now we know what happened to the couple from “Marry Me.”
Behind The Scenes
Before the track even dropped, Thomas Rhett gave fans teasers that featured throwbacks of his old friends, beautiful wife Lauren Akins, and two young daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James. All of these posts had captions that are lyrics from the first verse of “Remember You Young.”
“Remember You Young” is one of the tracks off of the star’s latest album, Cedar Point Road. Similar to many of his recent songs and albums, this title holds significant meaning- it is one of the streets in his hometown of Hendersonville, Tennesse. While his last album featured how crazy his adult life changed, this one is going to focus on life growing up.
“First dates, first football games, first heartbreak, first kisses, success and failures. I really feel like that road shaped who I am today, and it felt fitting because the record, for the most part, is pretty nostalgic,” Thomas Rhett begins. “Songs like ‘Almost,” ‘That Old Truck’ and especially ‘Center Point Road,’ really describe who I was as a kid and teenager, and who I’ve become as an adult.”
The “Life Changes” singer also had a first in his career where this album is concerned— he co-wrote all 16 songs! “On this one, I just got back to why I wanted to make music in the first place — and that was writing great songs. This is one of those records that every time I listen back to it, it still feels new.”

“Remember You Young” Lyrics
All straight laced and married up now
You ain’t foolin’ me, wasn’t long ago
We tore the roof off that one red light town
All classy kicked back on the couch
You smile and I see you shootin’ tequila
Or shuttin’ them college bars down
And no matter how much we grow up
For worse or for better, from now ’til forever
I’ll always remember you young
No, you won’t be that little for long
One day you’ll move away but you’re still gonna stay
This innocent after you’re gone
And no matter how much you grow up
For worse or for better, from now ’til forever
I’ll always remember you young
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh
He looks at us all like we’re kids
Shameless and painless and perfect and ageless
Forgives all the wrong that we did
I hope we never have to grow up
And He’ll say, “For worse or for better, from now ’til forever
I’ll always remember you young”
I’ll always remember you young
