Reba McEntire’s divorce from longtime husband Narvel Blackstock shocked the country music community when it became official in October 2015. As Reba revealed shortly after the pair went their separate ways, the split wasn’t her wish but decided it was for the best to maintain everyone’s happiness. She believes that our lives are too short to be miserable. In a new interview with Parade, the Oklahoman shared her thoughts on that difficult chapter of her life and her accomplishments over that last decade.
“Well, I survived divorce. I’ve gone on with my career,” McEntire reflected. “My team and I have won a Grammy and are nominated for another, so I’m thrilled with the progress and being able to move on, regardless of what happens in your personal life.”
The star continued, “Plus, my children are happy and healthy, and I’m having more time to spend with my immediate family—my mother and my brother and sisters. Even though we’ve had a lot of lows, I’ve had a great decade.”
Reba and Narvel’s marriage produced one son, Shelby, and the star remains close to her stepchildren, Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon. As many fans know, Brandon is married to Kelly Clarkson. Although Reba doesn’t have any biological grandchildren at this point, she has taken on a grandmother role within her stepchildren’s families.

“Turn on the Radio” Lyrics
No good, two timin’, lies comin’ outta your mouth.
Cheatin’, mistreatin’ games that you play brought you down.
Broke my heart, tore it apart, look who’s got the last laugh now.
Don’t you come crawlin’ back begging please on your knees,
Baby if you’re missin’ me.
Well, you can hear me on the radio!
You wanna turn me on, turn on your stereo.
You can sing along, while they’re playin’ my song.
How you done me wrong,
Baby crank it up!
Until you blow the speakers out your Chevy truck.
So listen Romeo, when you’re feelin’ kinda lonely,
Let me tell you where to go.
Turn on the radio!
Try to call, twitter me, text until your fingers bleed.
Oh! the D.J’s the only way you’re ever gonna hear from me.
If you’re reminiscing, and you’re missin’ me this much,
And you really wanna stay in touch.
Well if you hear me on the radio!
Turn on your radio!
Whoa!
Turn on the radio!
Turn on the radio
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
You can hear me on the radio!
Turn on your radio!
Turn on, turn on the radio!
Turn on the radio!
Turn on the radio, oh oh oh oh oh oh!
Turn on the radio!
