Kelly Clarkson‘s health scares sound horribly painful! In a new interview with PEOPLE, the frequent country collaborator opened up about two recent episodes that required medical attention.
Back in May, Clarkson hosted the Billboard Music Awards despite suffering from a ruptured appendix. After the show wrapped, she was rushed off for an emergency appendectomy. While that event was widely reported, the star quietly handled another health issue just one week later.
This time around she was on The Voice set when she realized something was wrong and started experiencing severe pain in her abdomen.
“That was more painful than the appendicitis,” she admitted to the outlet. “I was freaking out.”
Clarkson continued with the live taping, but eventually let her fellow judge Blake Shelton know she was really hurting.
“Blake was talking to me and all of the sudden, everything he said just went away and I had to grab his arm and I was like, ‘Something is wrong”” she shared.
After going straight to the hospital, Kelly Clarkson’s health issue was discovered— an ovarian cyst had developed and burst.
“I was hysterically laughing and crying in the ER like, ‘What is happening?'” confessed about landing in the hospital again.
After dealing with two very uncomfortable health issues, the star is fully recovered and doing so much better.
Besides appearing on the next season of The Voice, Clarkson’s new daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, is set to debut on September 9th!
