The Last Bandoleros What Would You Be Doing song was released in 2018 as a tribute to Diego and Emilio Navaira’s father who was a Tejano star. The brothers grew up playing in their father’s group and knew him as both father and a Grammy award winning music star. The last Bandoleros band is comprised of Diego Navaira, Derek James, Jerry Fuentes, and Emilio Navaira,
This song is a great emotional tribute to their talented musical father.
“I’ve written a few since he passed. This one just felt right to share with our fans and especially his,” says Diego, who sings lead on the song, with a harmony assist from brother Emilio IV. “I feel him every time that we play,” says Emilio IV. “That guy played every night like he was playing for a stadium. Whether he felt good, or healthy or sick or whatever. That’s instilled in me for sure — every time you go onstage, give it your all. Because you don’t know if you’re going to play again.”

The Last Bandoleros also had the honor of touring and performing with Sting. Singer/guitarist Jerry Fuentes said that working with Sting pushed the band harder than members would push themselves. “Seeing the way he runs his band, his personal time, how professional he is, I think that has rubbed off on us,” Fuentes said. “We’re like, ‘Guys, we need to get together and rehearse.’”
