That's right, Sam Hunt arrested on DUI and open container charges after driving down the wrong side of the road in Music City...

Country music hit-maker Sam Hunt arrested? Yes, the 34-year-old was busted early Thursday morning (11/ 21) and faces charges of driving under the influence and possessing open containers.

According to reports, officers intercepted the solo singer-songwriter when responding to a call of a vehicle driving the wrong way down the northbound lanes of Ellington Parkway near Ben Allen Road in Nashville. Hunt was noticeably driving impaired and smelled of alcohol when pulled over. He struggled with handing over his Tennessee drivers license, which was in his lap, and provided a credit card and his passport instead. Hunt was hauled in after he failed a field sobriety test. The arrest warrant indicates that Hunt’s blood alcohol content level was .173, well above Tennessee legal limit of .08. Two empty beer cans were also found in the passenger seat.

The Georgia native was released from jail at 9 AM CT on a $2,500 bond and his court date has been set for January 17, 2020. Thankfully no one was hurt. Dude, next time— call your “Kinfolks” for a ride.

“Kinfolks” Lyrics

I saw you going by, I had to say hello
I saw you going by, I had to say hello
I don’t mean to pry, but girl, I gotta know
What is your name?
How come I ain’t seen you around before? Tell me
Now you know I ain’t ever had a type, having a type takes two
But I know what I like, and you’re the only one of you
You’re something else (damn)
And I know we just met, but
I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks, to my old friends
To the house in the pines where the road ends
Take you to my hometown, where I grew up
Where I thought I knew it all before I knew what love was
Gave up on it, but honey, you got my hopes up
And I’m thinking that I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks
I wanna take you home, not just take you home tonight
Get Joanie on the phone, she’ll leave us on a light
I wanna see the way you look up under all those stars, yeah
You don’t need to talk, word’s gonna get around
They’ll tell you how they thought I’d never settle down
Out on the porch, ain’t it funny the way things change?
I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks, to my old friends
To the house in the pines where the road ends
Take you to my hometown, where I grew up
Where I thought I knew it all before I knew what love was
Gave up on it, but honey, you got my hopes up
And I’m thinking that I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks
I want you tonight
I don’t ever wanna be without
I don’t wanna wait around for the right time
I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks, to my old friends
To the house in the pines where the road ends
Take you to my hometown, where I grew up
Where I thought I knew it all before I knew what love was
Gave up on it, but honey, you got my hopes up
And I’m thinking that I wanna introduce you to my kinfolks
