Country music superstar Miranda Lambert’s charity auction via eBay, which ran October 31st through November 17th, raised a jaw-dropping $105,166 for her MuttNation Foundation! Over 425 items were available to bid on— from the star’s stage clothes to footwear to accessories and much more!
“I wanted to do something special to raise awareness for Adopt A Shelter Dog Month,” Lambert explained before launching the auction. “So I’m opening my closet with an eBay auction of some of my favorite clothes, boots, and jewelry with all proceeds benefiting MuttNation Foundation. I’m really excited about doing something that will make both my fans and the mutts happy.”
MuttNation Foundation’s mission is to promote and facilitate the adoption of shelter pets, encourage spay/ neuter for all pets, and educate the public about the importance and beneficial impact of these actions. The organization’s objectives are accomplished through numerous initiatives— adoption events, fundraising events, a national pet transport network, and providing financial support to carefully vetted shelters across the United States. MuttNation is also committed to providing monetary, hands on, and transport assistance during times of emergency and disaster.
“I know it was just Thanksgiving, but it already feels like Christmas,” Miranda shared via a statement in response to the auction’s success. “It just means so much that we’re able to help so many more rescues and shelter pets, especially at this time of year. I’m incredibly grateful to my fans for making this auction such a great success. It almost makes me want to clean out my closet more often!”
