Country music star Kelsea Ballerini’s first headlining tour was back in 2016 when she played shows across the country on her The First Time Tour. In 2017, the beautiful singer-songwriter took a different approach. Throughout the year, Ballerini did a stint opening for country music star Thomas Rhett before switching over to open for Little Big Town. However, on October 30th, Kelsea Ballerini announced she will be headlining again in 2018 on her very own Unapologetically Tour. Her opening act will be Walker Hayes.
In a recent interview with The Boot, the “Peter Pan” singer spoke about the thrill headlining gives her. “I’m so excited because it is my favorite thing I’ve ever done in my life. We did it last December, and I didn’t know if I could do it or not, because I had never tried. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can sell tickets. I’m always opening for people.’ But we did and it was the most fulfilling thing I had done.”
Then, Ballerini talked about the pressures of headlining. “When you open for people, they know the singles; they don’t know anything else. So you do covers and you do things to try and grab them, Kelsea explained. “But when you headline, they know the second verse to Track 7. And you’re like, ‘Oh my God, this whole record mattered.'”
