Country music star Kacey Musgraves‘ “Rainbow” performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards definitely left a profound mark on the evening which celebrates some of the best music has to offer. This isn’t the first time, however, she has been noticed for her incredible talents. Kacey has been on the rise in the realm of country music for years now, collecting a total of 6 wins and 9 nominations in terms of the Grammys. 2013 was a notable year for the female country star as she took home Best Country Song for her hit “Merry Go ‘Round” as well as Best Country Album for “Same Trailer Different Park.” During the 61st Grammy Awards ceremony, her talent was appropriately praised yet again, taking home a plethora of awards:
Album of the Year for “Golden Hour”
Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies”
Best Country Song for “Space Cowboy”
Best Country Album for “Golden Hour”
Saying she made country music proud is an understatement. Country music has not won album of the year since Taylor Swift‘s “Fearless” album in 2009 and in 2008 when Robert Plant & Alison Krauss took home the title for their album “Raising Sand.” And while not everyone is a fan of country music, Kacey Musgraves might have gained a couple more with her heartfelt performance of her hit “Rainbow” at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

“Rainbow” Lyrics
When it rains, it pours
But you didn’t even notice
It ain’t rainin’ anymore
It’s hard to breathe when all you know is
The struggle of stayin’ above the risin’ water line
Well the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin’
But you’re stuck out in the same ol’ storm again
You hold tight to your umbrella
Well, darlin’, I’m just tryin’ to tell ya
That there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head
If you could see what I see
You’d be blinded by the colors
Yellow, red, and orange, and green
And at least a million others
So tie up the boat, take off your coat, and take a look around
‘Cause the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin’
But you’re stuck out in the same ol’ storm again
You hold tight to your umbrella
Well, darlin’, I’m just tryin’ to tell ya
That there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head
Oh, tie up the boat, take off your coat, and take a look around
Everything is alright now
‘Cause the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin’
But you’re stuck out in the same ol’ storm again
Let go of your umbrella
‘Cause, darlin’, I’m just tryin’ to tell ya
That there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head
Yeah, there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head
It’ll all be alright
