On Tuesday (6/25), country music star Granger Smith and his wife Amber presented a check for $218,791 to Dell Children’s Medical Center, where their 3-year-old son River received medical attention before his passing in early June due to drowning.
“I don’t know how you do it, but I thank God every day that there are people like you that love what you do and are so passionate about it. The first thing we wanted to do was to start giving back to Dell Children’s. It is a testament from ground up, sincerely I cannot thank you enough for our visit here and the kindness and sincerity that we got,” Granger shared while presenting the donation.

In addition to giving back to Dell Children’s Medical Center, Granger has gotten new ink on his right forearm to honor his son’s memory. He also performed during last weekend‘s 2019 Country LakeShake Festival in Chicago and chose to sing his emotional “Heaven Bound Balloons” in River’s honor.
Donations can still be made to central Texas’ Dell Children’s Medical Center. The Smiths have also released a special tribute t-shirt through Granger’s Yee Yee Apparel line and proceeds benefit the medical center. The shirts can be purchased here.
