Country music star Chris Stapleton's donation to the Special Olympics chapter in his home county was a welcome surprise! More here.

Country music superstar and Kentucky native Chris Stapleton never forgets where he comes from or to help out. The Johnson County Special Olympics chapter was recently surprised by Chris Stapleton’s donation of $5,000 from his charitable Outlaw State of Kind fund.

“We really don’t know where or how he got the initiative to send us money,” Johnson County Special Olympics Local Coordinator Brenda Dyer shared with Eastern Kentucky’s WYMT news outlet. “It’s kind of a surprise right now. No one seems to know.”

The organization is grateful for the star’s generosity and plans to purchase new uniforms for their athletes.

“We’ve got lots and lots of love and kudos for Chris, a good homeboy who takes care of his people back at home. No matter what the activity or group, he’s always willing to lend a hand,” Dyer added.

According to Stapleton’s website the Outlaw State of Kind fund was founded in 2016 and supports a variety of causes that are close to Chris and wife Morgane‘s heart. The  charitable fund is also administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

“Millionaire” Lyrics

They say “Love is more precious than gold”
Can’t be bought and it can’t be sold
I got love enough to spare
That makes me a millionaire
I got a woman with eyes that shine
Down deep as a diamond mine
She’s my treasure so very rare
She’s made me a millionaire
When we ride around, ride around this old town
In the beat-up car, with the windows down
People look at her and they look at me
And say “That boy is sure living in luxury”
Sweet luxury
‘Cause love is more precious than gold
It can’t be bought, no, never could be sold
I got love enough to share
That makes me a millionaire
When the kisses fall from everywhere
Life reaches on, millionaire
When the pocket’s are empty and the cupboard is bare
I still feel like a millionaire
‘Cause love is more precious than gold
It can’t be bought, no, and it can’t be sold
I got love enough to spare
That makes me a millionaire
