In late October, country music power couple Chris Stapleton and Morgane Stapleton shared with the public that they are expecting twins next year! The love birds got hitched on October 30, 2007 and are already proud parents of a young son and daughter. To protect their children’s privacy, the pair have remained mum on their names and they are rarely seen out in public with their famous parents. Though very private, the two opened up to NBC’s Sunday TODAY host Willie Geist about learning that they were adding two babies to their family!
“I think I laughed for about 20 minutes straight when they told us. I was just shocked. I didn’t know what else to do. … I was in shock. Shocked is the only word,” Chris confessed.
“It wasn’t a laugh, it was more like a giggle. He giggled for like 25 minutes,” added Morgane about her husband’s initial reaction to the surprising news.
The Stapletons haven’t learned the genders of their babies yet, but their two older children are pressuring their parents to find out ahead of the twins’ arrival. No news yet on when exactly the twins are due to arrive.
“I don’t want to find out but the kids want to find out so I think we’re gonna find out. I lost that fight,” Morgane quipped.

Chris Stapleton’s second album of 2017, From A Room: Volume 2, dropped on December 1st. The Kentucky native also scored three 2018 Grammy Award nominations— ‘Best Country Album,’ ‘Best Country Song,’ and ‘Best Country Solo Performance.’ The 60th edition of the ceremony will take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden on January 28th and broadcast live via CBS from 7:30 to 11 p.m. ET.
