Country music star Carrie Underwood and Joan Jett welcome NBC's Sunday Night Football viewers this season! Watch the new open here!

Carrie Underwood and Joan Jett have joined forces for a new rendition of the original Sunday Night Football theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.” The all-new show open stars Underwood for the seventh consecutive year and will give a nod to the first-ever NBC SNF open from 2006 while also featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett.

As fans may recall, Jett’s 1988 Top 10 hit “I Hate Myself for Loving You” was adapted for the original “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” SNF show open music. In addition to the musical icon, Carrie is also joined by NFL stars in the new show open. Following is the complete list:

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones
Chicago Bears DB Kyle Fuller
Chicago Bears LB Khalil Mack
Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff
Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz
Philadelphia TE Zach Ertz
Philadelphia Eagles DT Fletcher Cox
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson

“I have always been a huge fan of Joan’s, and I’m thrilled that she’s joining us for the Sunday Night Football open,” Carrie shares. “What better way to pay homage to the original SNF opening song than by getting to play with her on primetime’s biggest stage?”

“When Carrie brought us this idea, we immediately embraced it as a terrific way to evolve the performance, while also celebrating the song we used in our first 10 seasons of SNF,” said Fred Gaudelli, Executive Producer of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. “We were excited when Joan agreed to join us, and we can’t wait to debut the finished product.”

The full 2019 NBC Sunday Night Football show open featuring Carrie Underwood and Joan Jett debuted on Sunday, September 8th, as the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers.
