Florida Georgia Line star Brian Kelley is all about helping out those in need and giving back to his home state. As reported by MyPanhandle.com, the artist delivered toys, clothing items, and sneakers to Port St. Joe Elementary School after a parent informed him that the the school was running low on items to help out children in need.
“The teachers and their families and some of our students came out, and everybody got to leave with a pair of shoes, and the rest of the clothing and the shoes and the toys are going to out Christmas toy drive that the community is doing,” said Principal Joni Mock shared with the outlet.
Now that’s a shopping trip!
The kids look so happy!
How awesome is this gesture? As we know so well, this area of Florida was rocked when Hurricane Michael impacted the region on October 10th. According to CNN, the Category 4 storm is the third most intense Atlantic hurricane in U.S. history and the most violent to hit this part of the state directly.
To continue helping out, Brian and his wife Brittney have started their own GoFundMe relief effort— Tribe Kelley Hurricane Relief. The official fundraising page states the following: “By donating, you can be confident 100% of proceeds will go back into the communities devastated by Hurricane Michael. We are working directly with the county officials, communities, citizens, non-profit charity organizations to assure we are helping the people most in need in areas of devastation from Hurricane Michael. We are working closely with Alaqua Refuge in helping provide homes for displaced citizens and animals.”
Funds will be used to provide meals, help rebuild homes, aid local businesses, restore childcare centers, and buy/distribute needed supplies.
Keep the good going, Brian and Brittney. Goodness knows Florida needs help to rebuild! Share this feel-good update with others!
