Country music artist Brett Young and his fiancée, Taylor Mills, have learned a lot about each other over their long friendship which began in 2008 and eventual courtship. After keeping their relationship under the radar, Young shared their engagement news with fans back in February. The couple’s similar personality traits are what make them a perfect match— even if Brett’s stubbornness leads to some irritation.
“I think it’s the part of my personality that’s very hard-headed and strong-willed. It bugs her because she’s the same way. I think that’s what we love the most about each other, and the reason we butt heads is I like to win,” he humorously explained to Taste of Country.

Brett also confessed that wedding planning is extremely intense and Mills has taken charge of all things connected to their special day.
“She’s working really hard to plan the wedding and I’ve volunteered to stay out of the way unless she really needs my help with something. And I think we found a good balance there,” he shared with the outlet. “She’s basically killing it and I’ve never thought of wedding planning as a full-time job, especially for the bride and the groom, but it takes up way more time than my job.”
Ahead of the pair exchanging vows, the “Mercy” singer will perform at a variety of music festivals across the United States before appearing as an opening act on the last bit of Thomas Rhett‘s 2018 Life Changes Tour. Young is also working hard on his second studio album and is expected to release a new single by the end of summer.
