Country music star Blake Shelton's Hallmark Christmas movie number two is on its way after the success of his first! More on his latest here.

Country music star Blake Shelton’s Hallmark Christmas movie push is not over yet! Hallmark recently announced the first of the holiday films that will premiere this year and the country singer happens to be behind one of them!

The longtime Voice coach will be an executive producer of this upcoming holiday film and the storyline is said to focus on “an emotional homecoming journey.” Could it get any better? Why yes, yes it can. With the country star on board, the holiday flick will also feature some of Blake’s own music!

His country background sparked the inspiration for his first project with Hallmark, titling the movie Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas. Just as most of his country tunes, the 2018 Television hit was created through inspiration he pulled from his own life. More specifically, it was a track that he sang with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford, creating an iconic mother-son holiday tune.

Dorothy spoke to Country Living saying, “Blake was writing the song for his Christmas album and said he needed help with the second verse. So I came up with the second verse and that’s how the song was born.”

As of now, it is still in the air as to which songs will make it onto the soundtrack of Blake’s new film. Fans could only hope that Blake’s warm and cozy holiday duet with Gwen Stefani, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” would make the cut.

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas was set in the United States, however, the actual location for filming included an array of locations throughout British Colombia, Canada. These film sites include Langley, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack, Pitt Meadows, and Abbotsford. The plot involves a famous musician named Heath (played by Josh Henderson) and a small-town girl Cara (played by Megan Park), who are making their way back home to Oklahoma, Blake’s home state, for the holidays. On their way, however, the couple gets stranded.

If you haven’t seen Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas, make sure to give it a watch and hopefully it will hold you over until Blake’s 2019 film is released.

Blake’s 2019 movie will feature a different lead cast but the film location is likely to stay the same. Keep an eye out because this is a Hallmark movie that will even get Santa saying “yeehaw”!
