Last night’s People’s Choice Awards was a big one for country music star Blake Shelton! The Oklahoman beat out Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban for the ‘Country Artist of 2018’ title. He also joined The Voice host Carson Daly onstage to accept the ‘Competition Show of 2018’ award for the popular reality singing competition program.
While in the spotlight, the pair drew attention to former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani, who was seated in the audience.
“All-time favorite coach, right there, Gwen Stefani. I love her,” Shelton shared, pointing at his lady love before Daly added, “You wanna come up? Come up and say a few [words]. Come on up!”
While Daly and the crowd chanted her name, the songstress made her way to the big stage and took Blake’s hand.
“Who would’ve thought that this country artist could land one of my oldest friends in the music business?” Daly quipped about the unlikely couple.
“Oh my God, I’m so excited to be with Blake Shelton!” Stefani said playfully.
“Thank you guys so much,” Shelton expressed.
“They’re gonna get a room,” Daly joked.
