Of course Sunday's Super Bowl featured dozens of wonderful commercials, but do you remember Blake Shelton's 2001 Ford commercial? Check it out here...

Okay, so Blake Shelton’s commercial did not make its debut during the Super Bowl, but that does not diminish the ad’s greatness. In fact, the casualness adds significantly to the epic scene. For example, do you remember that Shelton used to have a mullet? Do you remember his super twangy voice from back in the day?

Sometimes fans forget their idols did not always live in the public spotlight, and this certainly applies to Blake Shelton. Back in the day, the Oklahoma native took every opportunity to earn a penny while building his reputation as a country singer. Luckily, in 2001, North Texas Ford dealerships reached out to him with an offer to star in their upcoming commercial. Knowing the American car company would grant him a paycheck, as well as the chance to appear on television, Shelton happily accepted the offer. The rest is history.

Check out the epic throwback ad below…

We’re wondering if the blonde woman seated next to him in the cab is the star’s first wife, Kaynette Williams. It’s hard to tell since she turns her head so quickly.

Since this commercial, Blake Shelton has scored 25 No. 1 singles! You read that right, 25! On top of that incredible feat, the “God Gave Me You” singer has snagged a lead role on NBC’s hit show, The Voice. However, his success does not stop with music and television. Shelton has his own vodka brand and clothing line! Oh yeah, he’s dating singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani. In 2017, he was also voted “Sexiest Man Alive.” You could say Blake Shelton has done pretty well for himself, but cutting the mullet was probably his best decision!

“I’ll Name The Dogs” Lyrics

Girl, it’s high time, I tell ya
No more messin’ around
Time to lay these cards on the table
And just throw it out

I’m talin’ you and me with the same street name
Same last name, same everything
It’s a real thing, a how I feel thing
So I’mma go on and take a swing

You find the spot and I’ll find the money
You be the pretty and I’ll be the funny
You plant the flowers, and I’ll plant the kisses
Baby, let’s get right down to business

I’ll hang the pictures, you hang the stars
You pick the plant, I’ll pick a guitar
Sing you a song out there with the crickets and the frogs
You name the babies and I’ll name the dogs, yeah

You can park your car in the driveway
I’ll park my truck in the grass
I’ll put a little swing on the front porch
If you put a little tea in my glass

Watch the sun set from a gravel road
Kiss me in the kitchen on your tippy toes
Still lovin’ on you when the rooster crows
Watching way more than the garden grow

You find the spot and I’ll find the money
You be the pretty and I’ll be the funny
You plant the flowers, I’ll plant the kisses
Baby, let’s get right down to business

I’ll hang the pictures, you hang the stars
You pick the paint, I’ll pick a guitar
Sing you a song out here with the crickets and the frogs
You name the babies and i’ll name the dogs

Yeah, laying next to you every night
Sounds like a damn good life

You find the spot and I’ll find the money
You be the pretty and I’ll be the funny
You plant the flowers, I’ll plant the kisses
Baby, lets get right down to business

I’ll hang the pictures, you hang the stars
You pick the paint, I’ll pick a guitar
Sing you a song out there with the crickets and the frogs
You name the babies and I’ll name the dogs
Yeah, I’ll name the dogs
You name the babies and I’ll name the dogs
Yeah, I’ll name the dogs
