Country music star Reba McEntire's 1990's Fritos commercial is truly some throwback gold. Enjoy it right here!

Celebrities of all kinds appear in commercials, even country Queen Reba McEntire! The fiery redhead from Oklahoma appeared in an early 1990’s Fritos commercial for the popular snack brand’s new flavor of chips.

The TV spot shows Reba stopping by a remote convenience after it’s closed and pleading with the curmudgeonly store clerk to allow her to buy a bag of Fritos’ brand new “Texas Grill” tortilla chips. To prove that she’s really Reba, the star performs her hit song “Fancy” complete with backup dancers and her band. In the end, the store keep still doesn’t believe that the young woman is indeed Reba, but lets her have the chips anyway for all her effort.

Though the whole ad is a gem, we especially enjoy Reba asking viewers to call a 1-800 number for a free sample bag of chips— and her reference to a phone booth.

Enjoy the entertaining throwback commercial below!

Although Reba’s version of “Fancy” is well-known, it was actually written and first recorded by singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry in 1969. The country star’s cover appears on her 1990 album Rumor Has It and it hit number eight on the Billboard Country charts. Check out the official music video for “Fancy” below!

As we all know, Reba’s acting pursuits have gone way beyond this comical commercial. She has been featured in a slew of films during her career as an entertainer: Tremors, Maverick, North, The Little Rascals, One Night at McCool’s, The Fox and the Hound 2 (voice role), Charlotte’s Web (voice role), Romances of the Republics, and The Land Before Time: Journey of the Brave (voice role). She has also starred on the television programs Reba (2001- 2007) and Malibu Country (2012-2013).

We are 99.9 percent sure Frito’s Texas Grill chips are no longer on the market, but we’ll always have this epic commercial to enjoy.

Share this fun look back with other Reba McEntire fans!
