After divorcing Blake Shelton in July 2015, country music songbird Miranda Lambert appears to be on cloud nine with her boyfriend Americana/R&B musician Anderson East. According to an interview with 92.3 WCOL, Alabama native East met the blonde Texan when she attended one of his shows and a friend introduced them.
The pair went public with their romance on January 1, 2016 and haven’t looked back. Besides spending quality time together, Miranda and Anderson have also struck up a creative partnership. East co-wrote “Getaway Driver” and “Well-Rested” with Lambert for her hit 2016 double album, The Weight of These Wings, and also provided background vocals on her “Pushin’ Time” track.
Miranda Lambert and Anderson East’s relationship continues to evolve and appears to be going great. Let’s take a look back at some highlights from their blossoming romance!
The pair put their love on display at April’s ACM Awards where Miranda walked away with the ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ award along with ‘Album of the Year’ for her double album The Weight of These Wings.
In March, the talented pair surprised fans at Lambert’s Highway Vagabond Tour stop in Louisiana by performing a duet of the Faces’ 1971 hit song, “Stay With Me.” The country music couple are not strangers to performing together on stage, hopefully as their relationship grows they will increase their live collaborations in the future.
In late February, Miranda and Anderson adopted three cats— Bobbi McGee, Nick Saban, and Bear Bryant— to join their family of rescue animals.
While performing a special benefit show at Joe’s Bar in Chicago in January, Miranda Lambert shared the stage with boyfriend Anderson East and her father Richard Lambert. Proceeds from the event went directly to support Lambert’s “Women Creators Fund,” which provides a scholarship for one female Belmont University student pursing a music industry career. Watch the talented group, which included Gwen Sebastian, perform the powerful gospel song “Woke Up This Morning (With My Mind Stayed on Freedom)” below!
Last August, Miranda strutted her stuff at her concert in Irvine, California on in a T-shirt with her boyfriend’s name emblazoned on the front. How cute is that?
Shortly after making their romance public knowledge, Miranda joined Anderson during his Valentine’s Day 2016 show in Northampton, Massachusetts. The handsome pair covered Mariah Carey’s classic song “Always Be My Baby” much to the surprise of the Pearl Street Nightclub crowd.
We’re thrilled that these two artists have found comfort and joy with each other. The future has a lot in store for these two and we wish them the best. Fans can next catch Lambert performing at the Bayou Country Superfest on May 27th, Faster Horses in New York on July 22nd and a pair of shows with Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre August 8th and 9th.
