Rising country music starlet and American Idol alum Lauren Alaina just celebrated her very first No. 1 single with “Road Less Traveled”— landing at the top of both the Billboard and MediaBase country airplay charts. Upon learning the big news, Lauren shared the emotional video clip below with her loyal fans via Facebook.
Co-written with Jesse Frasure and Meghan Trainor, Lauren delivers an important and empowering message of self-acceptance in the catchy triumphant anthem. Lauren has been an inspiration to countless men and women of all ages with her relatability, vulnerability, and openness of her lyrics.
“I cannot believe I have the number one song in the country,” shared a thrilled Lauren in a statement. “I have dreamed of this day my entire life. The five singles, the ups and downs, the tears, the smiles, and the six years of hard work have made this moment so much sweeter. I am so thankful to everyone who helped me get to this point. Regardless of my future, I get to live the rest of my life saying I have written a number one song. Life made.”
Once the singer-songwriter recovered emotionally after receiving the great news, she celebrated with a good ol’ fashioned run on the Slip ‘N Slide. It didn’t go quite as planned, but Lauren handled it with her signature flair and a dose of infectious laughter!
“Road Less Traveled” is the title track of her sophomore studio album. Lauren recently wrapped the CMT Next Women of Country Tour with country music icon Martina McBride and this summer she will hit the road on select Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour dates with Luke Bryan.
