Country music star Kelsea Ballerini, 23, grew up listening to pop music. When asked about her influences, Kelsea answered, “I grew up on top 40 pop. I didn’t know what country music was, which is so funny because I grew up on a farm in East Tennessee.” Ballerini named pop artists Brittney Spears and NSYNC, along with country music acts Sugarland, Shania Twain, and crossover artist Taylor Swift as her biggest influences.

The singer-songwriter is no stranger to covering pop songs. Throughout the past year, she has produced covers of Lady Gaga and Drake, while mixing in Tim McGraw and George Jones. In September, she debuted her cover of Adele’s song “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” on The Bobby Bones Show.
