Four years ago today (May 14, 2011), Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton united in matrimony during a private ceremony at the 125-acre Don Strange Ranch outside of San Antonio, Texas in front of 550 guests. Witnesses included country stars Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley, and Martina McBride. The couple had been together for five years at that point and became engaged almost exactly one year prior to their wedding.
Let’s take a look back at how they started…
The couple’s intense chemistry hit the radar back in 2005 when the pair teamed up for a rendition of the classic “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” for the CMT 100 Greatest Duets program. You can see the sparks flying in this video clip and the two began dating in 2006.
Fast forward to 2015— With super hot careers and busy tour schedules, the couple makes sure to put in extra effort in order to stay connected. “Miranda and I, our relationship is odd,” Shelton recently explained to The Boot. “But really, really, really tight. We’ve gotten to the point where we really lean on each other for a lot of things, and it surprises me with how much we’re involved with each others’ careers — probably to the point where it makes people that work with us uncomfortable.”
Happy anniversary to these two lovebirds!
