Chris Stapleton surprised fans in Colorado when he invited football star Peyton Manning to join him on stage! Check out the video here.

Football great Peyton Manning may have retired from the Denver Broncos in March 2016 after eighteen years in the NFL, but he hasn’t faded into the background. While country music sensation Chris Stapleton was performing at the Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver on Tuesday night, the singer-songwriter had the popular sports legend join him on stage for a rendition of his breakthrough hit “Tennessee Whiskey.”

Fortunately for fans all over the world, the surprise moment was captured by audience members. So how did Peyton do? Well, he should stick to athletic pursuits. Check out his vocals below!

It’s no secret that Manning is a serious country music superfan— he’s hopped on the stage with stars such as Lee Brice, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Cole Swindell in the past. His affinity for the genre makes sense, he’s from New Orleans, Louisiana and opted to play college football for the University of Tennessee Volunteers. We wonder if his link to the great state of Tennessee had anything to do with Stapleton’s song selection?

Stapleton’s new album From A Room: Volume 1, released on May 5th, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Country Albums, No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales, and No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200! Not to mention 13.5 million online streams, marking the highest all-time streaming debut for any country artist— a new country music record!
