Willie Nelson makes a cameo with the Muppets!
Willie Nelson is one cool cat. The legendary entertainer appeared on the season finale of The Muppets and performed his beloved hit “On the Road Again.” The 82-year-old singer, with the help of a band of Muppets called ‘Electric Mayhem’ playing instruments and adding in vocal harmonies, serenaded Miss Piggy while she is in the hospital after breaking her leg during a dance routine.
“Hi Piggy,” Nelson added before breaking into song. “Looks like you could use a little cheering up, darlin’.” Watch his amazing performance in the video clip below.
Intersting note, in 1989 the Muppets covered “On the Road Again” and later Willie Nelson also recorded his own version of Kermit’s “Rainbow Connection.” I guess you could call ol’ Willie a Muppets superfan.
