Miranda Lambert and husband of four years, Blake Shelton, are two of country music’s hottest acts— So, why don’t they co-headline a tour together? Lambert says that feat would result in way too much artistic compromise for both parties.
The “Little Red Wagon” singer told the New Orleans Times-Picayune, “It’s interesting being married to an artist because we have two ways of doing everything, him and I. From our management and fans, from the way we write to the songs we pick — but it’s fun to watch because both ways work … I don’t know what’s the best way to get there, but I know it’s a lot of work and you have to be willing to put it in.”
Despite balancing dual hectic schedules, Lambert insists that spending time away from each other actually helps you work harder to keep communication open.
“You have to talk on the phone and text each other and be intimate, but rely on them in a different way,” Miranda says. “It works, if you’re up for it. It’s not for everybody.”
The power couple makes sure to put in extra effort in order to stay connected and make the best of their moments together. “Miranda and I, our relationship is odd,” Shelton recently explained to The Boot. “But really, really, really tight. We’ve gotten to the point where we really lean on each other for a lot of things, and it surprises me with how much we’re involved with each others’ careers — probably to the point where it makes people that work with us uncomfortable.”
Sounds like they have found a great recipe for relationship-career success in a wild industry!
