Country music fans who love country singing couples are in for a treat with Two Story Road. The husband and wife duo, Brandon & Jamelle Fraley, recently won the fan voted “Must Follow Duo” award, sponsored by CMChat (The Chatty’s Awards), beating out FL/GA line, Thompson Square, & Dan+Shay. It’s no surprise that their CMA Fest Fan Party sold out in under an hour 3 years in a row.
Two Story Road is bringing a refreshing sound to Nashville, with their beautiful vocals and quirky lyrics.
The duo have been making music together as long as they’ve been married. Both were vocal majors who quickly became each other’s biggest fans, and dove head first into Music Row after earning their degrees from Belmont University.
Brandon began his musical journey writing for Sony Music Publishing, followed by touring with Gretchen Wilson & later, American Idol alum, Danny Gokey. Jamelle spent five years singing background vocals for Carrie Underwood. During their touring years as band members, they performed on almost every TV and award show imaginable. Between the two of them, they have well over 1000 shows under their belt, graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry more than 100 times and are quickly becoming regulars at the Bluebird Cafe.
In early 2015, they teamed up with country producer giant Mark Bright (Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts) and recorded their first official 6 song EP at Starstruck Studios. In addition to co-writing some of the tracks, some of Nashville’s finest songwriters such as Jeffrey Steele, Tom Douglas, Gordie Sampson and Steve McEwan are represented on the current EP.
Brandon and Jamelle caught up with Country Fancast to talk about the track “Russian History” and why they chose to highlight it.
“The 3rd track on our EP is a song where a girl tells her man in a sassy way, “You think you’re so smart, but you know less about me than you do Russian History!” She realizes by the end that he’s complicated too, and that she doesn’t have him totally figured out either.” the duo said.
“We love that Russian History shows a fun, light-hearted side of us. We truly laugh as much as possible, in every situation, and in our marriage. So the sarcasm and silliness of this song really helps round out our debut EP and give a fuller picture of Two Story Road.”
