Darius Rucker Tribute to Prince – Pop music icon Prince passed away today (April 21st) and the whole world seems to be in mourning. Musicians across all genres are speaking up about how he was an inspiration to them and some are already posting tributes to the artist online.
Darius Rucker has been paying homage to Prince for many years with his version of Prince’s “Purple Rain” that Rucker would often play at shows.
“He made me stand up and listen when the Controversy album came out,” Rucker said to Rolling Stone today, referring to Prince’s fourth studio album.
“And then he made me want to be in a band more than anything with ‘Purple Rain.’ I will forever be indebted to him for showing me true greatness.”
