Vince Gill and Amy Grant's 1993 performance of "Tennessee Christmas" is really a fun blast from the past. Enjoy watching the video footage here!

During a 1993 ‘Christmas with Vince Gill‘ concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, singer-songwriter Amy Grant joined the country star onstage for a rendition of her holiday tune “Tennessee Christmas.” Enjoy the performance below!

When Vince Gill and Amy Grant first met earlier that same year recording “House of Love,” they were on parallel paths— both were successful artists married to other musicians. The pair quickly formed a strong friendship and weathered the storms spun out from their troubled marriages. In 1997, Gill split from wife Janis Oliver of the country band Sweethearts of the Rodeo and Grant divorced husband Gary Chapman in 1999. A few months later, Vince and Amy stepped out publicity as a couple and wed on March 10, 2000.

In getting married, Grant’s three children Matt, Millie, and Sarah combined into a blended family with Gill’s teenage daughter, Jenny. The couple also welcomed their daughter Corrina into the family on March 12, 2001.

Nearly eighteen years after tying the knot, Amy and Vince are still going strong and performing Christmas classic together. This month, the pair returned to the Mother Church for an unprecedented ten-night stand performing their beloved ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ show. The annual holiday tradition kicked off on December 6th and ran through December 21st.

“Tennessee Christmas” Lyrics

Come on weatherman,
Give us a forecast snowy white.
Can’t you hear the prayers
Of every childlike heart tonight?
Rockies are calling,
Denver snow falling,
Somebody said it’s four feet deep.
But it doesn’t matter,
Give me the laughter;
I’m gonna choose to keep
Another tender Tennessee Christmas,
The only Christmas for me.
Where the love circles around us,
Like the gifts beneath our tree.
Well I know there’s more snow
Up in Colorado
Than my roof will ever see,
But a tender Tennessee Christmas
Is the only Christmas for me.
Every now and then,
I got a wanderin’ urge to see
Maybe California,
Maybe tinsel town’s for me.
There’s a parade there;
We’d have it made there;
Bring home a tan for new year’s eve.
Sure sounds exciting,
Awfully inviting,
Still I think I’ll gonna keep
Another tender Tennessee Christmas,
The only Christmas for me.
Where the love circles around us,
Like the gifts beneath our tree.
Well they say in l.a.,
It’s a warm holiday;
It’s the only place to be.
But a tender Tennessee Christmas
Is the only Christmas for me.
Well I know there’s more snow
Up in Colorado
Than my roof will ever see,
But a tender Tennessee Christmas
Is the only Christmas for me.
A tender Tennessee Christmas
Is the only christmas for me.
