Believe it or not, it has been three years since Garth Brooks came out of his thirteen year retirement and embarked on his world tour with his wife and fellow country music singer Trisha Yearwood. The tour also launched his album Man Against Machine and officially brought Garth Brooks back into the country music game, much to the delight of his massive fan base!
The tour took them all over the United States and Canada and had the couple traveling over 200 days a year. It’s completely understandable that Brooks and Yearwood would be ready for a break and even talking retirement after the grueling 3-year tour.
However retirement is thankfully not on the table for the country music superstars.
“This portion of the tour will be done in December,” Yearwood said. “We’re not going to retire—and I’m going to do my own thing, do my own music and my own stuff—but this particular tour in this form will be done. It has been really intense, but it’s been so much fun.”
Yearwood, in addition to her and Brooks’ charitable commitments, has her own emmy-nominated cooking show called Trisha’s Southern Kitchen. That will be a focus of hers after the tour is over, with perhaps another cookbook to come which would be the fourth installment from Yearwood to her cooking fans.
Brooks has not talked about what would be next for him. Now that his daughters are out in the world and living their own lives he has no reason to stop performing and creating music for his millions of fans.
No matter what, we are sure what’s in store will be a little less stressful than what Yearwood took on three years ago.
“When it started, I really had anxiety about it – I love to sing, I love to perform, but I didn’t know how this is going to work and how we’re actually going to have a life too; how we’re going to see our families, all of those things” Yearwood said.
Now they will both be able to concentrate their talents wherever they want and we are really excited to see what comes next!
