Country Music star Toby Keith released Don’t Let the Old Man In in advance of the movie “The Mule” hitting theaters on December 14, 2018. The music video for “Don’t Let the Old Man In” features footage from the movie (The Mule) where Clint Eastwood plays a senior citizen that becomes tangled into a life of drug trafficking. The Toby Keith song perfectly pairs with the footage from the movie. For the movie role, Clint stars as 80 year-old Earl Stone and was inspired by the true story of Leo Sharp (from a 2014 New York Times magazine article). This is the first major Eastwood role since his role in Gran Torino in 2009. The film also stars Bradley Cooper, Dianne Wiest, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Pena.

Toby Keith Don’t Let the Old Man In Music Video
“Don’t Let The Old Man In,” an original song written by Toby Keith. The song was inspired by a one liner answer from Eastwood when they shared a golf cart together at a charity event. Keith asked Eastwood, “How Do you Do it Man?”. Eastwood answered, “I Don’t Let the Old Man In”. The rest is history and a country music song is born. Watch the official trailer for the movie below.
Don’t Let the Old Man In Lyrics
Don’t let the old man in, I wanna leave this alone
Can’t leave it up to him, he’s knocking on my door
And I knew all of my life, that someday it would end
Get up and go outside, don’t let the old man in
Many moons I have lived
My body’s weathered and worn
Ask yourself how would you be
If you didn’t know the day you were born
Try to love on your wife
And stay close to your friends
Toast each sundown with wine
Don’t let the old man in
Many moons I have lived
My body’s weathered and worn
Ask yourself how would you be
If you didn’t know the day you were born
When he rides up on his horse
And you feel that cold bitter wind
Look out your window and smile
Don’t let the old man in
Look out your window and smile
Don’t let the old man in
