Country music star Tim McGraw kicked off the run of birthdays set to take place in 2017 when he turned 50 on Monday (5/1). He is followed by Nicole Kidman (6/20), Faith Hill (9/21), and then, the baby of the two couples, Keith Urban (10/26). It seems like just yesterday McGraw was singing about his next thirty years…what’s in store for the next fifty?
The four superstars have more than made their mark on the world through their music and acting roles. All four have beautiful children and successful marriages. It seems like we all could take some sage advice from these birthday boys and girls.
Below we have gathered quotes from the soon-to-be 50 year-olds that we can all live by…along with a song or performance that we can all love!
Happy Birthday Tim, Faith, Nicole, and Keith!
Tim McGraw:
“As you get older, you realize that you’re not just singing about you in particular. You’re singing about everybody else that’s out there. So you find songs with a character in that song, and you sort of walk through that song as the character in a lot of ways. You’ve gotta realize people are living vicariously through these songs, so you can’t get stuck on what’s about you.”
Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take The Girl”
Faith Hill:
“I think beauty comes from within. If you’re happy and look at life in the best way you can, even when there are problems, it can make you beautiful on the outside.”
Faith Hill’s “Wild One”
Nicole Kidman:
“I’m not sure what the future holds but I do know that I’m going to be positive and not wake up feeling desperate. As my dad said ‘Nic, it is what it is, it’s not what it should have been, not what it could have been, it is what it is.”
Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge
Keith Urban:
“I think everybody has different priorities in their life. People live their lives differently. People become famous through all sorts of different reasons… some of it through art and some of it through just wanting to be famous. And I think how that all starts tends to reflect how you live your life daily.”
Keith Urban’s “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”
