Watch this vintage footage of Loretta Lynn performing a medley of Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight"/"Sweet Dreams"/"Back In Baby's Arms"/"Crazy"!

Watch country music legend Loretta Lynn perform a medley of “Walkin’ After Midnight”/”Sweet Dreams”/”Back In Baby’s Arms”/ “Crazy.” These songs were made famous by fellow icon Patsy Cline, but Loretta certainly does them justice! Enjoy watching this vintage performance below.

As discussed in the 2016 PBS documentary film American Masters — Loretta Lynn: Still a Mountain Girl, Loretta and Patsy were close friends. Cline gave her country counterpart performing advice and also passed hand-me-down clothing to the rising star. Oddly enough, this included a pair of Cline’s panties that Lynn wore for years. “I don’t know how long she had ’em,” Lynn shared about the item. “I never did wear those panties out, there ain’t no way to wear ’em out!” Lynn once had them on display in her museum. You can’t get much closer than that!

Lynn’s 1976 autobiography, Coal Miner’s Daughter, also includes an entire chapter highlighting her friendship with the late star.

“Walkin’ After Midnight” Lyrics

I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do, I’m always walkin’
After midnight, searchin’ for you (wa-wa-walking, wa-wa-walking)
I walk for miles along the highway
Well, that’s just my way
Of sayin’ I love you, I’m always walkin’
After midnight, searchin’ for you (wa-wa-walking, wa-wa-walking)
I stop to see a weepin’ willow
Cryin’ on his pillow
Maybe he’s cryin’ for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I’m lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hopin’ you may be somewhere a-walkin’
After midnight, searchin’ for me (Wa-wa-walking, wa-wa-walking)
I stop to see a weepin’ willow
Cryin’ on his pillow
Maybe he’s cryin’ for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I’m lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hopin’ you may be somewhere a-walkin’
After midnight, searchin’ for me (wa-wa-walking, wa-ooh-ah)

“Sweet Dreams” Lyrics

Sweet dreams of you
Every night I go through
Why can’t I forget you and start my life anew
Instead of having sweet dreams about you
You don’t love me, it’s plain
I should know I’ll never wear your ring
I should hate you the whole night through
Instead of having sweet dreams about you
Sweet dreams of you
Things I know can’t come true
Why can’t I forget the past, start loving someone new
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

“Back In Baby’s Arms” Lyrics

I’m back in baby’s arms
How I missed those lovin’ arms
I’m back where I belong
Back in baby’s arms
Don’t know why we quarreled
We never did before
Since we found out how it hurt
I bet we never quarrel anymore
Thought I didn’t need his love
‘Til he took it away
Now I’m back where I belong
And in my baby’s arms I’m gonna stay
Back in baby’s arms, back in baby’s arms, back in baby’s arms

 “Crazy” Lyrics

Crazy, I’m crazy for feeling so lonely
I’m crazy, crazy for feeling so blue
I knew you’d love me as long as you wanted
And then someday you’d leave me for somebody new

Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Wondering what in the world did I do?
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I’m crazy for trying and crazy for crying

And I’m crazy for loving you
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I’m crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I’m crazy for loving you
