Country music hit-maker Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins are flipping adorable. That’s not an opinion— that’s a fact. Need proof? Check out the message the “Unforgettable” singer posted to social media in honor of his wife’s 28th birthday.
“This picture is from 2011 when we were just starting this crazy unimaginable life together. I have never met anyone who can light up a room the way you do just by smiling. I have never seen someone make a stranger feel like you have known them for a lifetime the way that you do. I have never laughed or loved harder in my whole life than when I’m with you. I’m so far from perfect but just being in your presence makes me better. You are the most amazing mom. You TRULY are Wonder Woman. I am beyond thankful that God put you on this earth 28 years ago and that he allowed me to know you and marry you. I love you so freaking much,” Rhett shared via Instagram.

So how did Thomas and Lauren spend the night of her birthday? At the 2017 CMA Awards in Nashville! They clean up nicely.
Over the weekend, the couple traveled to Asheville, North Carolina to celebrate Lauren’s birthday with a group of friends.
Last month, these love birds celebrated five years of marriage. Interestingly enough, Thomas and Lauren’s history together stretches all the way back to first grade. The pair went to school together and even briefly dated in high school.
After graduating, the longtime friends headed off to different colleges and got into serious relationships with other people. “I almost married someone else, and she did too,” disclosed Rhett during a past interview with CBS This Morning.
Oddly enough, it was Thomas’ future father-in-law who pushed the two back together. “Her dad called me and said, ‘If you don’t come over here tonight and tell Lauren how you feel about her, then I’m going to tell her how you feel about her.”
The pair got engaged shortly after reconnecting and got hitched on October 12, 2012. As we all know, the couple welcomed daughters Willa Gray and Ada James into the family this year!
