Over winter break, country superstar Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, took a break from Music City and hit the ski slopes! A vacation in Telluride, Colorado, called for introducing the newest family members to skiing. Well… Ada James might be too young to strap on the skis, but Willa Gray gave it a shot!
Thomas Rhett and Lauren bundled their young kiddos up with kitted hats, scarves and gloves — sometimes oversized, but still so adorable! While snow is occasional in Nashville, Ada James and Willa Gray enjoyed this cold and fun family getaway.
The couple’s eldest daughter, adopted from Uganda, is only three years old. However, she shows she is dedicated learner when it comes to a new activity. Lauren holds Willa Gray’s hands as she glides down the small hill, and she seems so excited and fearless with the sport. An Akins Family fan page captured this quick video from Lauren’s Instagram story. Willa Gray is a natural… and look how small those skis are!Thomas Rhett also took the opportunity to poke some fun at his wife’s skiing skills. In a video posted on social media, he captures Lauren coming out of some bushes on her skis. He captioned it: “The Winter Olympics are only four years away.” Nonetheless, the couple enjoyed family time on the slopes.
Ada James, on the other hand, decided that she loved the trip because she could eat the snow! After all, she’s just over a year old.
The 28-year-old singer and his family rang in the new year during the trip as well. They cuddled around a bonfire, enjoyed the hot tub, went snowmobiling and met up with friends, making so many fun memories over winter vacation. Soon enough, Willa Gray will beat everyone down the mountain. So, they’ll have to schedule another trip to the snowy slopes and also teach Ada James how to ski when she’s a bit older!
The break was much needed for Thomas Rhett after a jam-packed 2018 schedule. Now, it’s back to reality. This year, he plans to stay just as busy with his headlining Very Hot Summer Tour. He’ll be traveling the country, making 40 stops along the way, and hopefully, he will play some new songs from his highly-anticipated upcoming album.
