Country music duo Sugarland‘s highly-anticipated first single in six years, “Still the Same,” has been released!
“We are thrilled for fans to hear our new music, especially this new single,” Jennifer Nettles shared in a press release. “The title of the song is so meaningful to us as we want fans to know, we are still the same, we are still the same Sugarland they’ve known and loved.”
“We want to finish where we left off. We always knew were going to make music again, so this has been the best of both worlds,” added Kristian Bush. “We were able to take time to feed our personal passions, and we’re excited to come back together to create music as a band again.”

After going on hiatus in 2013 to pursue solo careers, it’s great to see Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush reunite! During the 2017 CMA Awards in November, the two artists surprised viewers by presenting the ‘Vocal Duo of the Year’ award and also hinted at a possible Sugarland reboot while onstage. The next day, the artists confirmed the rumors by issuing a press release revealing that Sugarland was indeed back together.
This track will hit country radio in early 2018 and is the first taste of Sugarland’s forthcoming new album. The popular pair have released five studio albums so far. Their last album, The Incredible Machine, dropped back in 2010 and their last single, “Tonight,” impacted country radio in 2011. Besides putting out new music, Nettles and Bush will also be going on tour next year.
