Eric Church Hits Hard with “Stick That in Your Country Song” Studio Video

Country music singer-songwriter Eric Church's "Stick That in Your Country Song" holds nothing back! Watch the studio video here...

Country music star Eric Church shared earlier this year that new music was coming. After writing and recording in a rural cabin in North Carolina, the singer-songwriter dropped “Stick That in Your Country Song” in June and has just released the studio video! Watch it below.

With this new single, he offers a social commentary on the state of the world and provides a rallying cry for cities from Detroit to Baltimore and people from young military veterans to school teachers, culminating in an emphatic “Stick That In Your Country Song” as each chorus hits.

“We were in the mountains of North Carolina, this is January, this is before COVID, this is before social, racial unrest, riots, protests, and as real as the song was to me then, it became a hundred times more real as time continued to evolve,” Church shared with iHeartRadio about the song written by Davis Naish and Jeffrey Steele. “That’s rare. I’ve only had that happen, maybe a time or two. And, it just felt like I was meant to cut the song and to sing the song, and that’s the reason it’s the first single. It felt like it was the right song for the right moment in time. And, I’m proud of the job we did on it.”

“Stick That In Your Country Song” Lyrics

Take me on up to Detroit City
Jails are full, the factories empty
Mama’s crying, young boys dying
Under that red white and blue still flying
Drop me off in Baltimore
Where every other window’s got a plywood board
Where dreams become drugs and guns
The only way out is to shoot or run

Stick that in your country song, yeah
Take that one to number one, yeah
And get the whole world singing along, yeah
Stick that in your country song, yeah (Oh)

Sing about the man coming back from war
A 23 going on 54
He lost a friend, his sight, his hands
Baby girl he’ll never see again

Stick that in your country song, yeah
Take that one to number one, yeah
And get the whole world singing along, man
Stick that in your country song, yeah (Oh)

I light the arrow, pull the bow
Shoot that fire right through my soul
Hit my pride, fist up high
I wanna feel the rush, I wanna feel alive
Oh, come on I want to pound the dash
Stomp the gas, drive too fast
Rock me hard, stop my heart
And blow the speakers right out of this car

Stick that in your country song, yeah
And take that one to number one, yeah (Number one, yeah)
And get the whole world singing along, man
Stick that in your country song
Stick that in your country song
Take that one to number one
I can sing this all night long, yeah
Stick that in your country song, yeah (Oh)

Gimme one about the teacher who
Tryna change a life or two
She’ll be rocking out all night with you
Tomorrow, she’ll be back in a red-brick school
Where kids are climbing off the walls
And it’s scary walking down the hall
She’s underpaid, she’s overworked
Come on, man, shout one out to her

Stick that in your country song, come on
Take that one to number one, yeah
And get the whole world singing along
Stick that in your country song
Stick that in your country song
Take that one to number one, yeah (Number one, yeah)
And get the whole world singing along, yeah
Stick that in your country song, yeah (Hey! Oh)

Stick that in your country song, yeah (Oh)
Get the whole world singing along (Singin’ along, oh)
Stick that in a country song (Oh)

This new music follows 2018’s Desperate Man, Church’s sixth studio album. Share this song with other country music fans!
