Shania Twain is back and better than ever. After a long break from the music industry, Shania announced her first studio album in 15 years in September 2017. With all of the excitement of her new music video, she further announces on her Instagram that the song “Soldier” from her newly released album Now will be featured in an upcoming movie called “Thank You for Your Service.”
The film was released late October 2017. The movie told a story of a group of U.S. soldiers who return from Iraq and face the struggling emotional journey to return to a normal civilian lifestyle outside of war. Shania’s song speaks volumes to the message of the movie.
“Where did you go my love, I need to know you’re safe. I need to see your face. Has anybody seen my soldier standing all alone? Has anybody seen my soldier just trying to get home…” the songstress sings.
If you’re feeling especially emotional, open your heart and sing along to this ballad:
“Soldier” Lyrics
Don’t close the door when you leave
It’s cold out
I need to see the air when you breathe
And say out loud
That you’ll be home soon
Not to worry
You’re gonna hurry back
[Chorus]
Has anybody seen my soldier
Standing all alone?
Has anybody seen my soldier
Just tryna get home?
[Verse 2]
You’re not alone when you dream
I’m with you
I hear your heart when it beats
I feel it too
Sleep in peace
Love is tender
Please remember me
[Chorus]
Has anybody seen my soldier
Standing all alone?
Has anybody seen my soldier
Just tryna get home?
[Bridge]
Where did you go, my love? (I need to know)
I need to know you’re safe (So many miles)
So many miles between us
I need to see your face
[Chorus]
Has anybody seen my soldier
Standing all alone?
Has anybody seen my soldier?
Oh, has anybody seen my soldier
Standing all alone?
Has anybody seen my soldier
Just tryna get home?
Just tryna get home
