Earlier this month country music superstar Shania Twain appeared on TBS’ rap battle show, Drop the Mic, to take on pop star Meghan Trainor. Though the pair of songbirds traded some really gnarly verses, the pair showed that their was absolutely no love lost with a giant hug at the close of their lyrical throwdown.
“When I was told I’d be battling one of my idols, I wondered if beating her was worth the title,” Trainor rapped in her opening line. Adding in, “Shania Twain? No problem, I thought you meant Dolly Parton.”
Twain had the perfect clapback and referenced Trainor’s tune “Lips Are Movin”, “I don’t need to bow down to come on top. Your lips are moving. I wish they would stop.”

In the end, both music queens were declared winners by co-hosts Method Man and Hailey Baldwin— but the audience clearly favored country music icon Shania Twain!
