As promised, Shania Twain‘s new single “Life’s About To Get Good” has officially debuted! As revealed yesterday, the Canadian songbird’s first album in 15 years, NOW, will be released on September 29th.

When writing the upbeat and positive “Life’s About to Get Good,” Shania explains, “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song.” The Canadian-born talent realized that within life’s lows, there’s also glimmers hope and positivity. “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
As fans well know, the superstar has faced a series of ups and downs over the last 15 years— from her painful divorce from longtime producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, to almost losing her ability to sing forever, to finding true love with second husband, Frédéric Thiébaud.
