Sam Hunt was a football player before he was ever a musician. He grew up in Cedartown, Georgia and was a quarterback at Middle Tennessee University for two years. He did very well with football but between practices he was quietly working on learning the guitar.
This weekend is of course the Super Bowl, so it makes a lot of sense that Sam was asked to perform at the huge, televised tailgate party. But Hunt won’t be the only artist headlining the tailgate party, he’ll be accompanied by the iconic pop star, Seal.
The concert is of course on Sunday, right before the big game at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco and you can watch the whole show on CBS’ Super Bowl Today show between 2pm and 6pm ET.

Sam has been on fire recently, blowing everyone away with his debut album Montevallo and making lots of inspiring and head turning music.
Sam Hunt seems to be just getting started, so be on the lookout for more modern country music from the guy who’s doing it all differently. And make sure you tune into the Super Bowl early and watch him throw a huge “House Party” right before the game.
