Country music singer-songwriter Sam Hunt‘s cover of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land” for the upcoming Netflix exclusive action movie Bright, starring Will Smith, is mellow, soothing, and a little bit eerie. Listen to the Georgia native’s contribution to the film’s soundtrack below!

Guthrie penned this familiar tune in 1940 and the tune’s melody is very similar to the Carter Family’s “When the World’s on Fire,” which was inspired by the Baptist gospel hymn “Oh, My Loving Brother.” In 2002, the iconic song was one of 50 recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry.
As for Hunt, his most recent single “Body Like a Back Road” dropped in February and he promises to drop more at the start of the new year. The singer-songwriter has revealed that he has songs ready to go, he’s just waiting a bit to make them public.
“I’ve been working on new music along with doing other things that I put on hold for the last few years,” Hunt disclosed to Stylz and Roman. “I do have some songs starting to accumulate. First of the year, I’ll have music ready to rock.”
