Something was very different about country music star Sam Hunt when he dropped by the press conference to announce Luke Bryan’s upcoming What Makes You Country XL stadium tour— his scruffy beard was gone and he was totally clean shaven.
“For the past couple of years when it gets cold I like to grow a little facial hair,” Hunt shared during the conference. “There was this cool little barber shop in hotel I was staying in downstairs and he was giving those cool straight razor shaves and I had never had one done, so I (shaved) it off.”

Sam is set to accompany Luke Bryan on the stadium leg of his tour alongside Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen and Carly Pearce. Before hitting the road, Hunt has plans to hit the studio to work on his new music.
“I do have some songs that, yeah, I’m going in [the studio] February 5th through March and April, and I’m hitting it hard before we get out on the road,” he shared. “So, I plan on having new music out a month or two before we strike out and hit the road when I may not have as much time to write.”
Like his hit debut album Montevallo, we hope that his wife Hannah Lee’s influence is just as strong on his sophomore album. Besides being his muse, she’s keeping her man focused.
“I’ve finally got my life a lot more organized than it has been in years,” Hunt explained. “Getting married last year helped a lot in that department. So, that’s definitely translated with music. I’ve been writing for a couple years, and I planned to have new music out before now, but with all the other things goings on, I haven’t organized it into a compact album version, market-ready version of some of this music.”
We are long overdue for some new tracks from this talent. “Body Like a Back Road” was the only track Hunt released in 2017— and it’s proven to be a huge success for the country artist and remains a contender on the country charts.
