Rory Feek Book About His Life with Joey
Rory Feek has taken all of us on the journey that is his life through his blog This Life I Live. The blog has been an emotional outlet for Rory as he and his family have endured a heartbreaking battle with cancer, which was recently ended with the passing of his wife Joey Feek on March 4th. Rory held nothing back in his online writing, which led readers to feel as if they were going through the journey right alongside the Feek family.
Now, in an interview with People, Rory Feek has announced that he plans to write and publish a book about his beloved Joey’s life. Rory knows that Joey would not only approve, but would encourage him to take on the project.
“She talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story, and other stories…this past spring I co-wrote and directed my first film, and she wants me to go on and continue writing and making more movies” Rory said.
The book would serve as a way for Joey and Rory’s 2-year-old daughter Indiana to remember her mom.
“Without realizing I was doing it, God has allowed me to capture hours and hours of Joey and her life at home on the farm, raising Indiana and playing music,” he said.
“I can’t help but believe that those clips will be an important part of keeping Joey’s memory alive in Indy’s heart.”
Fans have a pretty good idea about how the book will be put together. This Life I Live already contains many stories about Joey that Rory wrote about naturally:
“From the time she was four years old, Joey had been singing Dolly’s songs and dreamed of one day meeting her. Coat of Many Colors was a regular part of our show and at home she loved to put on Dolly and listen to “Hello God”, “When I Sing For Him”, “Me and Little Andy” and many others” Rory posted on his blog.
The Feeks have returned to their home in Tennessee after staying in Indiana during Joey’s sickness. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them during this time of grieving and remembering an extraordinary mother, wife, and musician.
