Country music singer-songwriter Rory Feek will return to the stage in 2018 for a series of “extraordinary, ordinary evenings with Rory Feek,” held in the barn concert hall on the Feek family farm an hour south of Nashville, Tennessee. The series kicks off in April and will run through the rest of the year.
The evenings will feature stories and songs from his life before meeting his wife Joey, heartwarming moments with his family and stories about the new and unexpected experiences he’s lived in the past two years since Joey’s passing due to cancer.
“What Rory does on stage is more like a TED Talk with music, than it is a concert,” Rory’s manager Aaron Carnahan shares. “Rory’s an unusually gifted storyteller who is able to weave songs, stories and video components seamlessly together in a way that not only entertains an audience, but also profoundly impacts their character and marriages and the way they look at life.”
As fans know, Rory and Joey performed as country music duo Joey+Rory and won a Grammy Award in 2017 for their Hymns That Are Important To Us album. The couple captured the hearts of many in past years, as Rory chronicled their love story, the birth of their daughter Indiana and Joey’s cancer battle on his blog, This Life I Live, as well as their preparation for her passing in March 2016 at age 40. Since, he’s released a documentary, To Joey, With Love, and a memoir, This Life I Live: One Man’s Extraordinary, Ordinary Life and the Woman Who Changed It Forever. He will release his second book, Once Upon A Farm: Lessons on Growing Love, Life, and Hope on a New Frontier in June.

“My Life Is Based On A True Story” Lyrics
My life is based on a true story
The greatest story ever told
How God’s only son gave his life for me
Some two thousand years ago
No I wasn’t there to see
The shame of Calvary
He suffered there for me
Still he hears my heart confess
My unworthiness and my rewards
My life is based on a true story
The story of my wonderous Lord
No I wasn’t there to see
The shame of Calvary
He suffered there for me
Still he hears my heart confess
My unworthiness and my rewards
My life is based on a true story
The story of my wonderous Lord
