Country music icon Randy Travis‘ birthday was celebrated at the Grand Ole Opry and the 60-year-old even sang the final “Amen” during the performance of his signature song “Forever and Ever, Amen.” As fans can recall, the star suffered a massive stroke in 2013 that impacted his speech, mobility, and ability to sing.

It’s great to see Randy enjoying himself out in public and being surrounded by so many that love him!

Randy’s memoir Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life is set for release on May 14th and covers the legend’s childhood, career, and personal struggles.

“I didn’t really feel I had a book to write until I stood on the distant shore and looked back over the ripples my life has made — on myself and on others. My songs were the stories of my life and I learned from those who listened, they were theirs too — my fans inspired me and continue to do so,” Travis shares via press release.

The North Carolina native describes how his upbringing shaped him into the man he is today. Alcoholism, a stroke, and rehab are just a few of Travis’ biggest difficulties.

“A book about my life wasn’t something I thought much about while I was busy living it — now I know the difference between life and living,” Travis adds.

“Forever And Ever, Amen” Lyrics

You may think that I’m talking foolish
You’ve heard that I’m wild and I’m free
You may wonder how I can promise you now
This love that I feel for you always will be
But you’re not just time that I’m killin’
I’m no longer one of those guys
As sure as I live, this love that I give
Is gonna be yours until the day that I die
Oh, baby, I’m gonna love you forever
Forever and ever, amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men
If you wonder how long I’ll be faithful
I’ll be happy to tell you again
I’m gonna love you forever and ever
Forever and ever, amen
They say time take its toll on a body
Makes a young girl’s brown hair turn gray
Well, honey, I don’t care, I ain’t in love with your hair
And if it all fell out, well, I’d love you anyway
They say time can play tricks on a mem’ry
Make people forget things they knew
Well, it’s easy to see it’s happenin’ to me
I’ve already forgotten every woman but you
Oh, darlin’, I’m gonna love you forever
Forever and ever, amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men
If you wonder how long I’ll be faithful
Well, just listen to how this song ends
I’m gonna love you forever and ever
Forever and ever, amen
I’m gonna love you forever and ever
Forever and ever, forever and ever
Forever and ever, amen
